DESCRIPTION

Home to hundreds of miners during the Boom, Red Cliff is the oldest incorporated town in Eagle County, established in 1879. Red Cliff is located between Minturn and Leadville on scenic U.S. 24. Named for the spectacular quartzite rocks that surrounds this mountain community, many of the town’s original structures remain intact, leaving visitors with a glimpse of the life in the historic mining West. Central to Shrine Mountain Pass and other scenic lakes and streams, all the amenities of outdoor adventure are available in Red Cliff.
